CaseWizard

Security

Passwords, two-step verification, passkeys, and sign-in history.

CaseWizard supports strong passwords, authenticator-based two-step verification, passkeys, and login attempt history for legal teams.

Set up two-step verification

Two-step verification adds an authenticator code after the password step during sign-in. Your firm administrator may require it for the firm.

Open the user menu by selecting your avatar.
Choose Two-step verification.
Enroll an authenticator app using TOTP.
Save your backup codes in a secure location.
On your next sign-in, enter the verification code when CaseWizard prompts you.

Authenticator TOTP is the primary two-factor channel at login today. Firm administrators can require two-factor login under Administration → Settings.

Keep your authenticator app and backup codes available when you sign in from a new device. Treat backup codes as sensitive account credentials and do not share them with other users.

Use a passkey

A passkey provides a passwordless sign-in method when your administrator enables passkeys for the firm. You can use a passkey from the login screen and manage passkeys from Two-step verification in the user menu.

Open the user menu and choose Two-step verification.
Manage the passkey options available for your account.
At the next sign-in, choose Sign in with a passkey on the login screen.
Follow the prompt for your device or passkey credential.

If passkey sign-in is not available, use another method supported by your firm or ask your administrator to confirm that passkeys are enabled.

Change your password

Open the user menu by selecting your avatar.
Choose Change password.
Enter your current password and a new password that meets your firm policy.
Save the change.

Other active sessions are signed out for security after you change your password. Sign in again on devices you still use.

Review sign-in activity

CaseWizard records login attempts, including sign-ins completed with available authentication methods. Review login attempt history when you need to check recent account activity. If you see activity you do not recognize, change your password and contact your firm administrator.

Use passkeys, passwords, authenticator codes, and backup codes only for your own account. Do not share credentials, even with another member of your firm.
