Contacts

Search and manage people and companies across your firm.

Contacts centralizes the people and companies your firm works with, including records used for case parties and billing entities.

Manage people

Open Contacts → People from the sidebar.
Search by name or filter by contact type.
Click Create to add a person.
Enter the person's available email, phone, address, and identifiers.
Edit or delete the record when you have permission to manage it.

A person record can include date of birth, gender, SSN, and driver's license information. Keep records accurate and avoid creating duplicates. Search before creating a new person, especially when the person may already be connected to another matter.

Manage companies

Open Contacts → Companies.
Search for an organization or filter by organization type.
Click Create and enter the company's name, type, email, phone, and address.
Open the record later when you need to review or update its information.

Use contacts on cases

Assign people and companies to matters from the case summary. Depending on the case type, available roles can include plaintiff, defendant, insurer, adjuster, opposing counsel, judge, prosecutor, officer, or bondsman. The roles shown depend on your firm's configuration.

Unified people search helps you locate people across the CaseWizard workspace. When you find the correct record, confirm identifying details before assigning it to a case. A contact may be related to more than one matter, so verify the case context before making changes.

Revealing sensitive identifiers requires ViewPii permission and is audit-logged. Only access sensitive information when it is necessary for your work and permitted by firm policy.

Keep records reliable

Use consistent names and contact details so searches return useful results. If you cannot edit or delete a record, your role may not include the required permission. Ask a firm administrator to review the record or your access instead of creating a replacement record.
