CaseWizard

Documents

Upload, organize, and access case documents.

The Documents area stores files attached to matters and firm libraries. Your firm may also connect SharePoint or Egnyte for external document storage.

CaseWizard document folders and file list

Upload and organize files

Open Documents and select a case folder or firm library.
Open the folder where the file belongs.
Click Upload and choose files from your computer.
Review the uploaded file in the folder, then preview or download it when needed.
Open the linked case when you need matter context around the document.

Keep files in the appropriate case folder or firm library so other authorized users can find them. Before uploading, confirm that you are in the correct matter and folder. A document associated with the wrong case can expose information to users who should not see it or make the file difficult to locate.

Access files

Open a file to preview or download it when your permissions allow. Document access follows your firm's role and matter assignments. The Documents page may show different folders or files to different users. If you cannot open a file you expect to see, contact your firm administrator.

External storage

When your firm connects SharePoint or Egnyte, you can browse external libraries from within CaseWizard. The available folders and actions depend on the connected service and your access there. Follow your firm's document-retention and sharing policies when working with external files.

CaseWizard does not automatically make every document available to every user. Check the matter, folder, and your permissions before opening, downloading, or sharing a file.

Generate a document from a template

Use Document Merge when you need to create a document populated with case merge fields. Document Merge requires document storage and appropriate permissions. It supports SharePoint or Egnyte when your firm has selected one of those providers under Administration → Settings.
